"I'm not exactly sure how much more psychological havoc I can deal with," Julian grumbles, but he relaxes, if only slightly. It is exhausting, being on such constant alert, body and mind stretched to their limits... luckily Julian has more limits than most thanks to his genetic enhancements. If those apply here in his dream.
His conversation with Daniel has helped ease that a little, while not affecting his vigilance at least helping with his blood pressure, and he is about to relax a little bit back into Daniel's easy chatter when the sound stops him in his tracks. It should have made him run immediately, surely he has that self-preservation, but instead it freezes him, freezes his blood cold, chills him to his very bones. He isn't sure he would have moved at all if Daniel's daemon hadn't yelled at him to run, startling him back into response.
Agamede bites him, hard on the ankle and Julian starts to run, following Daniel. A part of him wonders if they shouldn't split up, but for now all he wants to do is get out of there. He stumbles, catching himself painfully on one hand, feet slipping uselessly on the ground (wet leaves, mud... hopefully something natural), but quickly rights himself himself and pushes onward. He has no wish to experience this dream-death Daniel mentioned, so best to run and check himself over later. "It's still underneath us!" Julian shouts to Daniel, knowing the warning doesn't exactly help.
