Julian holds on a second longer, until he has what he hopes is their sanctuary (and not something even worse than the trouble they're in already) is within sight, then lets go for both their sake's as the ground nearly drops out beneath them. This time, at least, Julian manages to keep his balance on the leaves and sticks and roots the whole way down until he feels the cooler air hit his face, letting him know he's made it.

Julian hears Daniel arrive next to him, and he stumbles inside. Julian presses one hand against the wall for support as he bends over double to try and catch his breath, which feels like an impossible task. "You... with me over there, Explorer?" he asks between breaths, eyes closed. He's not even sure it's safe to rest, but there isn't much of a choice. He has to stop, at least for a second. Just a quick second. He's not sure if he can even hear the danger over the hammering of his own heart, but at least he can sense Agamede nearby. He hasn't lost her.
