Daniel winces and nods sympathetically when he hears about the wrist, forgetting for a moment that Julian probably can't actually see much of it. The concern gets diverted by his next question, which Daniel latches onto with enthusiasm.
"Frequently," he says with a smile and without irony. "Usually involving a lot more mortal peril. Getting shot at, etcetera. The good news here is at least this place is a good defensive point. I think." He peers around at the cave speculatively but its interior is no more visible to him than it was the first time he checked.
(He hates that the military mindset has become something not so easily ignored, that Daniel can detect the threat and the strategy of a situation and react accordingly. It makes him feel less trusting.)
