He doesn't understand his purpose here; is his objective independent, or contingent on the dreamer's? He nearly skids on the leaf mulch coating the forest floor and hisses his exasperation between his teeth. At what point is there a differentiation between the resolution of his dream and his part in resolving another's?

In any case, Rush has recognized well enough that he is the additional factor here, that he is the trailing loose end, and that he must adhere to whatever rules are affecting the current environment.

Well. Isn't that fucking perfect.

"How very specific." The topography of this area is all very large and sinister and similar, all appropriately confusing for a dream or, possibly, nightmare, though the presence of the more nightmarish aspects appear to have faded. Odd. Rush's understanding of dream physics is a frustrating and fluid thing, largely because most dreams do not seem to consistently have any. "Is there a reason you're here, then?" It's a simple matter, then, of initiating a convergence of conclusion and purpose.
