Which goes to show that there's always something the Rift can spring on him if he ever feels like he's getting too comfy. Keeping things exciting, or maybe just frustrating. Or, no, exciting a little, he'll admit it, because the Rift is a bit fascinating all on its own, random and often frustrating machinations included.
