"Have you considered, you know," but he can't bring himself to bring the sentence to its completion for a minute, "stopping?"

Of course he has, he definitely has, that's not something one doesn't consider under those circumstances, so Daniel plows on hastily, "I just mean, well. You're not defenseless, not anymore. Maybe you don't, you know, necessarily need to hang on to...that."
