It's not really fair that she could just show up and know he wasn't a complete dick. People don't do that -- don't just show up in his life and decide they want to spend time with him. Not for the sake of his personality, at least. Or they do, lately, though of course it blew up when it came to Lucy and Gabe started out by terrorizing him before deciding he wanted to be friends.
