The transition is dizzying, suddenly torn away from whatever dream was about to reel him in, plucked out of that corner of consciousness and dropped into a closed corner, where there's nowhere for him to run, nowhere to go. He can barely make out the creature sinking down over him before the lid closes, plunging him into darkness, but he doesn't need a good look to know what it is. He remembers it well enough, and from this vantage point, too. Fanfuckingtastic.
