Jay remains in the fetal position for a while, half-listening to the creatures argue over him (literally over him ha ha ha) and distantly considers trying to escape. The box is open, or... gone? Something. Space is sort of nebulous, there is no where here, and escape is probably impossible. He's in their domain now, whatever the fuck that is.
Still, he is nothing, honestly nothing, if not dogged. He made the last few years of his miserable life a nonstop parade of running headfirst into death and narrowly escaping from it against all odds, until, finally, it didn't work anymore. Trying counts for something, or that's what he tells himself.
