The TARDIS tends to expect rather more interesting communal telepathic experiences than the one she finds this time; this construct has very nearly the same structure as the waking world, and most of the same emotions in it. Though there's a few subtly different tastes too; more confidence and concern for others than she typically sees in the minds of people, and more arrogance. It's a strange enough mix to hold her attention for a moment, and that's all it takes for her to sense Gabriel, and that is reason enough to stay.

She manifests by his side in one of her usual fairly plain blue dresses, giving his mind a fond nudge and his awfully bright appearance a dubiously amused look. "Is there some sort of costume party I missed in this dream?"
