"You know this isn't a gas mask, right?" he asks, his voice now distorted by the mask. He doesn't have any weapons himself - evasion is usually his tactic, and if he needs to harm or kill them his powers can actually be very effective, at least at close range. And thankfully he doesn't need to hold his breath - he just needs to be very specific about what he phases through. The smoke remains undisturbed as he walks through it.

He steps forward towards the tear, and pulls it open with a gesture, catching the people on the other side by surprise as they come into view, or at least in view of Seth who is in the middle of the smoke. He phases one of their weapons out of their hands, while beams shoot straight through him and into the night air.
