"I know." The Balladeer nods, leaning back against Daine. He's still shaking slightly; he hadn't realized. "I can - I can tell," he says, making an aborted gesture towards his temple. He can't remember right now if he's told Daine about his abilities, but that doesn't matter. The point is that he can hear the difference.
It doesn't entirely help. But he'd be breaking down much worse if he thought he'd killed an actual person. He'll be okay.
Now's a bad time to freak out anyway, huh? "Like a zombie?" His eyes still dart away from the prone corpse, but he scans the parts of the street he can see from here. Zombies make sense, now that he's getting it together enough to actually try and think about what just happened. "They're in movies...if you get bitten, you become one."
