Step one almost - fucking finally - completed. Rita breaks into a lope, swinging at any zombies that have the poor fortune to come after them. The short iron fence between the first pavilion on the rest of the park bears a few signs of fortification, but either it wasn't enough, or the fortifiers realized they were wasting their time and pulled back. Now, most of it lies flattened. Rita steps over it and crosses the pavilion in a few long strides, ignoring the corpses already stretched across the stones.

The arched doorway leading into the lower level of the building is shut, but riddled with sizable holes. Rita approaches it sidelong, and shouts, "Anyone alive in there?"

Nothing. No movement.

Rita glances at Asadi, then shoulders the door open and steps inside.

It used to be a children's museum, from the looks of things. Most of the tables and chairs are now covering the windows, but there's a large fake tree covered in model birds. Rita tromps past it, looking for the stairs.
