"You haven't been gone from the capitol more than a few days," she protests, confused. None of the words coming from Daine's mouth make any sense, but Alanna can tell that this is Daine. This isn't some trick or illusion, and Daine wouldn't make up wild stories for no reason. She also wouldn't burst into tears for no reason.
She finally takes her hand fully off the sword hilt, settling in to the strange and comfortable new surroundings. A dream, she can believe. She's had visions in dreams before, not of the future, but telling none the less. Perhaps this is as real as some of those have been.
