Andrew yelps and tries to get away from the bear suddenly slamming her paws into his desk. She doesn't hurt him, though -- but when she does it again on the other side, his attempt to claw his way out of the chair is less the result of rational recognition of the fact he's been freed than it is a general attempt to flee. He's rather surprised when he actually gets out, feet catching on the arm of the chair and sending him sprawling across the books on the floor.
