The Doctor sighs and shakes his head a bit. "There's another metacrisis here in the dreaming," he explains. "But he's not in Manhattan with us." And thus not that important or any of their concern, really. He doesn't want to go into why this is upsetting right at this moment, because he recognises that her pains are much greater right now, and manages to put aside his own feelings for her for once. Besides, his troubles are in the future. They might not even happen at all. At least that's what he'll keep telling himself.
