"Never ever," quips Aglet untruthfully. "A Borrower only ever takes what won't be missed. I wouldn't put Aunt Euphony in danger like that."

Of course, now that he's said that he's thinking of all those things he did borrow that the Beans later missed -- things, in some cases, that he'd known they would miss, though he's sure (or at least assures himself) that none of it was ever anything they couldn't explain to themselves. Beans are always losing things by putting them down in strange places or letting other Beans use them.
