Logical as compared to just baking more than one kind of cookie in the first place? At least when she bakes, she knows exactly what's going into it. If she bungled something during the baking process, she'd be able to guess where it went wrong, and she'd just have a cookie that tasted terrible (which is bad enough) to show for her troubles. If she bungled something during the transmutation process, what would that leave her? A little pile of separated ingredients? A cookie that looks and tastes normal except for the part where it turns your tongue purple or knocks you unconscious for seven minutes?
