Sitting down amongst the folds of blanket, he explains, "We borrow the things we need -- only things that won't be missed. Cloth, food, string, nails, buttons...I guess a lot of families used to get blotting paper for their floors, but now the Beans don't use that stuff anymore, so we can't get it."
