This is My Island in the Sun [Open to All]
The Rift wouldn't say it's sorry for the fit it threw the other day, because the Rift never needs to apologize. It is (mostly) perfect, and all of its decisions are well reasoned and just. Obviously. But perhaps it has fallen into a bit of a post-tantrum sulk, because this dream is milder than one might expect. In fact, it's downright nice.
The dreamers will find themselves in an archipelago of small islands - most only a few acres in size - connected by narrow strips of sand or pebbles. The surrounding waters are calm. Little waves lap against the shorelines, and no rising tide will cut the islands off from one another. The islands themselves seem to have been lifted from every climate zone on Earth and several from beyond. Some are tropical, some colder and home to hardy conifers, some mossy and boulder-strewn, some covered in multicolored sand and odd, coral-like trees.
Most of the islands boast some kind of manmade or otherwise non-native structure, be it as small as a bench or as large as a pavilion, though there are no houses or shops to be seen. It's more like parkland, just civilized enough for a nice picnic. Some of the islands even have little grills, and a sufficiently motivated dreamer might be able to rustle up some hot dog or burger fixings if they poke around a bit.
And they'll have an extra pair of eyes to help with their searching, because their beloved dæmons have returned… again. Or perhaps they're being introduced for the first time. Regardless, it's the bi-annual dæmon dream party!

She sighs and says, "Things came up." Aqil sits in stony silence, huddled close on her shoulder. "How've you been?"
no subject
"Oh, I keep myself busy," he says, which is a sentence that would be innocuous if it was anyone but the Devil saying it. One can only assume that any pasttimes he gets up to involve blood and sacrifice and the occasionally drippy candle-- though, comparatively speaking, he's been keeping the bloodshed down to a minimum, to avoid the unfortunate possibility that Gabriel might feel the need to intervene. He and baby brother haven't been getting along so well.
"Remind me to show you some of my new notes on the Rift. With all the activity that's gone on lately, I've had plenty of opportunities to make observations."
Want a look at Satan's lab notebook, Iman?

"Yeah, all right," she sighs. She can't deny that his notes have been invaluable, and that she does want to keep that inlet open. At least Gabe's ensured he can't fuckin drop in on her again. "We can have a drink and talk science, like old times."
Oh won't that be a joy.

He's been a busy little Satan. After all, he has a tragedy that's going to happen back home in, from his perspective, the near future, and he needs to get back so that he can find a way to avert it. Satan he might be, but even he doesn't want an empty Heaven and the corpses of his brothers littering the Earth. And if that means that he has to find a way to literally crawl out of the bowels of Hell to find the ones responsible, than the Winchesters better watch out, because they're in for a fun, Devil-shaped surprise coming to a reality near them.
"I trust you've been keeping yourself occupied, as well?"
no subject
"Oh, yeah, you know," she says casually. "Helped dismantle ROMAC's power structure. Nothing big."
He probably doesn't care about that, but whatever, that definitely qualifies as 'occupied'.
I'll take 'things I thought I tagged weeks ago' for 1000, Trebek
He doesn't particularly care, because ROMAC has always been nothing more threatening to him than a fly, and they've never tried to tangle with him anyway. Perhaps if they had, he would have had some motivation to make a few corpses himself, but why waste the energy? It's just a petty little human organization, nothing to get all up in arms about.
"Though, ROMAC funded you, didn't they? It's going to be a little harder to get all your specialized equipment without them."
s'all good buddy
Present company excluded, except no, very included, present company at the top of the 'morally questionable resource' list. God she hopes he's not about to try and offer her something.
