[open to all] Room full of people in your head

The rift has gotten bored, and has decided it's time to bring people together for another dream party.

This time, when you find yourself within the dream, you'll be somewhere familiar. Perhaps somewhere you feel safe or at home, some place you miss, or were particularly happy at some point in your life. It might not be the same place every time you come back here, though.

There will also be a door where there didn't use to be one, even if there's no wall to surround it. If you go through this door, you will find yourself in endless simple corridor, lined with unmarked doors. And if you go through them, you'll pay a visit to someone else's room.

[There will monthly Dreaming party post like this. Same procedure as last time. Non-members welcome to tag in!]

Your name is Aradia Megido. You were in the process of freezing Jack Noir in place but you seem to have misplaced yourself in the process. Well now, this is quite a surprise for our newly-minted Hero of Time.

You flap your unnecessarily large FAIRY WINGS and rise up in the air to get a better look.

time players ftw

The TARDIS might almost be worried that the telepathic current has gotten into her mind somehow and is mimicking her own architectural configurations, what with the dreaming minds all having rooms connected via a changing hallway. But she can't sense any hostile intent (or any intent, for that matter) and it might just be coincidence, so she decides to just go with it and starts exploring the other rooms.

In the first one she comes across, she senses another presence up in the air and stops to watch the curious figure flying about.

omg yes

It feels so good to be alive that Aradia can almost hardly focus, but she does notice the other woman. She smiles and floats over, "Excuse me, I am alive but don't know where I am!"

Well, that's a bit of an odd thing to say. Being alive is kind of a prerequisite for dreaming, or for most anything really, in the TARDIS' experience. But let it never be said she isn't helpful. "This is a dreamspace shared by other minds. Are you... usually not alive?"

"My waking self wasn't but my dream self was, until it died on my quest bed, allowing me to come back," Aradia's explanation comes out fast and excitable as if she is rather pleased with this turn of events.

"And now I am very much alive and I intend to stay that way."

That doesn't actually clear up anything. How do two dead 'selves' make a living self? The TARDIS looks appropriately confused, but also intrigued. "Your universe sounds quite unusual. And I have been to some very unusual universes."
minute_maid: (dont ask me about my mortality)

"My universe was created within a game and the parameters are funny."

Well it makes sense to her.

"But I'm not there anymore."
theoldgirl: (still arguing)

[personal profile] theoldgirl 2013-05-04 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, a game universe? That does actually make sense. It's not hard to believe hers doesn't follow particularly logical rules, then. She just hopes it has nothing to do with the Celestial Toymaker, for the girl's sake.

"Ah, no, this is a different universe," she explains helpfully. "On a planet called Earth. As I said, you are dreaming."

[personal profile] minute_maid 2013-05-04 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know what earth is. We made that universe; it was our prize." She has yet to see how they have won, but she is so very much alive that at the moment Aradia can't make herself care.
theoldgirl: (wtf are you on about)

[personal profile] theoldgirl 2013-05-05 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
And here she thought she was starting to understand what the girl is going on about. So much for that, and she frowns in surprise. "You created a universe by winning a game?" One containing a version of Earth, no less. "Would you mind elaborating? It sounds fascinating."
minute_maid: (dont ask me about my mortality)

[personal profile] minute_maid 2013-05-05 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, it was a game called Sgrub. We defeated all the challenges and received the universe as a prize." Even if that universe was doomed to be scratched and fail, but that is a mere temporal inevitability.

"Now we are going to start again."
theoldgirl: (huh)

[personal profile] theoldgirl 2013-05-05 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oughtn't you to look after the universe you created, instead of immediately creating another one?" It seems terribly irresponsible to just create universes left and right for fun.

Aradia shakes her head, landing on the ground to think. "Their session was always doomed to fail, we just didn't know. It has to be fixed by starting over."
theoldgirl: (headtilt)

"You seem to know a lot about the game mechanics of your universe." Most people in her own universe are regrettably ignorant to how it all works.
