Sometimes the rift only gives the denizens of Manhattan strange dreams. Sometimes, two people will find themselves together in the Dreaming. And other times? Other times, the Dreaming takes hold of dozens of people at once, throwing them all together into one shared mental space while they sleep.

Tonight is one of those nights -- what's more, the rift has outdone itself this time, telepathic tendrils reaching out through the rift into other universes to pull in even those who haven't been physically transported to this world...yet. You might meet a stranger from another world, or you might run into your next-door neighbor. You might notice right away that this isn't the waking world and that you are not alone, or you may drift through blissfully unaware that anything is out of the ordinary. You might not even remember this in the morning at all.

And that's probably going to be fortunate for at least a few people, because what you will notice is the overwhelming desire to get cozy with someone. It's chilly in this big house where you've found yourself, but luckily for you, there are beds, beanbags, and blankets galore, all of them just perfect for getting cuddly with your new friends. Consider yourself lucky that dream-world cameras can't upload photos to the real-world internet.

[It's a Dreaming party, and everyone is welcome! Tag a friend, tag a stranger, whatever! Everyone who's been pulled in will be feeling unusually friendly and cuddly, so get a-snuggling. Some characters (particularly those with strong telepathic defenses) may not be as strongly affected as others; the extent of the Dreaming's effect on each character is up to the mun's discretion.

Also, when we say everyone, we mean everyone. Non-members are welcome to tag into this post, so feel free to voice-test new characters here, and to invite friends who aren't in the game to come do some meeting and greeting. If you've come upon this post and aren't a member of this game, you are welcome to tag into this post.

For those who are familiar with the brbG parties, this is basically like that. Post a tag with your character's arrival and await replies. Time is bendy in here, so each character can have multiple replies/threads. Have fun!]

Hulk sees movement on the couch's arm and leans down. He has excellent vision and the dream is allowing him to see things more clearly, otherwise he might miss the young man.

"Huh. Very, very puny. Puniest. What you? Human?"

Aglet becomes aware of the Hulk when his shadow falls over the arm of the couch, blotting out the light. It's like a green mountain is looming over him -- without even meaning to, Aglet finds himself burrowing into the blanket until most of him is hidden. "B-Borrower!" he replies, staring upward.

Hulk sits down, curious.

"Borrower. New to Hulk. Hulk thought humans puny."

"...You're green," observes Aglet, his mental processes a little impaired by the sheer size of his conversational partner.

"Yes, Hulk green. Puny Borrow pink like humans. Have name like human?"

For a super-Bean, this Hulk person is at least fairly polite. Aglet gulps and nods, gaining a little courage. "I'm Aglet. You're Hulk?"

"Yes, Hulk. Ag-let. So small. How smash, when so small?"

He can't imagine anything surviving, without being able to smash.

"...Smash?" Aglet gives Hulk a puzzled look. "I don't smash much."

Understatement of the year.

Hulks face falls a bit.

"No smash?"

"Not really?" Aglet doesn't mean to upset him, honest he doesn't.

"Poor, puny Aglet. Hulk sorry."

He can't imagine anything worse, really.

"Hulk teach smash? Smash puny things?"

"Pleasedon'tsmashme." They may have a slight error in communication here.

If Hulk were feeling less cuddly, he would resent that. Puny humans always think Hulk is monster, but he's not. Still, his head shakes impatiently and he frowns.

"NO PUNY PUNY. Hulk not smash puny. Hulk show puny HOW to smash."

Aglet cringes despite the reassurance -- or maybe because of it; it's awfully loud. "...Oh," he says, feeling metaphorically blown over. "I don't think there's that much I could smash, actually."

"Smash very tiny things? Bugs? Hulk find something for you to smash!" Hulk promises, grinning.

"I guess I've killed a couple termites...." says Aglet doubtfully. That got his legs scarred up from their acid, though.

"Termites? Good to smash?"

"They've got this stuff that comes out of their head that burns if it touches you," replies Aglet, feeling he ought to point out the main trouble with fighting termites.

"Oh. Burn not good for puny ones. Hulk safe from burn though."

He demonstrates, placing one large hand directly into the flames of the fireplace, then bringing it out, unharmed.

"Don't --!" Aglet leaps up when he sees the Hulk about to burn himself. When the ~~jolly~~ green giant pulls it back unscathed, though, he just stares in amazement. "...Oh. Yeah, that'd kind of help."

Hulk gives a very unpracticed laugh, the sound a choked rumble.

"Help lots. Nothing stronger than Hulk: not fire, not hot flashes from sky, not cold, not bullets. Nothing!"

"Nothing," repeats Aglet in wonder. What must it be like to be so strong nothing could hurt you? He looks down at himself and frowns -- he rarely feels small, but right now he really, really does. "I don't think there's much that isn't stronger than me," he admits.

Hulk sees the frown and Banner is starting to be unhappy at Hulk, in Hulk's head. Banner's voice is sharp and quick and needs to shut up. Hulk uses a single finger and very carefully, because puny ones are so frail, pats the young one's back.

"Hulk protect. Help Aglet learn as much as smash as can."

For all that the Hulk is careful, Aglet still staggers under the touch. Part of him wants to run away screaming -- a giant green Bean just touched him -- but he finds himself leaning back into the touch, the dream's command to cuddle kicking in.

He chuckles ruefully. "Well, thanks, I guess."

Hulk gently scoops Aglet into his hand, letting the tiny puny one sit there.

"Aglet welcome. Hulk likes to help, when puny ones let him. Much nicer than stinging metal bits and shouting."
