It's Saturday night and you're hallucinating in your sleep!

It's that time again! The rift has caught the good little dreamers of New York (and beyond) in its currents and washed them ashore on a desert island in a dream wonderland. This time, however, quite a noticeable change has come over each of the attendees of this nocturnal party.

All the people who arrive in this shared mindspace will find that they have been transformed into some sort of animal they find familiar or that resembles them. They will find that they can still communicate with one another and that they still have all their mental faculties, but might be a little…well…influenced by the forms they have taken on.

They will also find that they have been deposited in the middle of the largest, most elaborate playground they have ever seen. Climbing equipment and slides of the sort meant for human children are in evidence, but so are cat trees, meadows, tunnels, pools and ponds, aerial obstacle courses, and anything else the mind can imagine, for as far as the eye can see.

[OOC: The usual dream party rules apply: players apply the party's theme (in this case, transformation) to their characters according to their own discretion, and both members and non-members are more than welcome to use this post to try out characters not yet in the game. Usual dreaming rules also apply, in that players can choose whether or not their characters will remember this in the morning. Have at!]

His response makes her snort in disdain. "You weren't taking anything apart when I left. I do not see how you would manage it in my absence." Though she wouldn't mind him being stuck here when she finds a way back home at all. That's actually a really appealing thought.

"I don't see how your absence would enter into it. I think you give yourself a little too much credit." If anything, he'd be more like to succeed in some scheme without someone around actually attuned to his interference. Not that she's much of one for involving herself with the safety of the universe when the chips are down. At least not willingly. Why is she never privy to his most enjoyably aggravating thoughts? It's such a waste. He'd pout, but cats can really only glare, no matter how many otherwordly properties they have. "I suppose you're busy being useless in the absence of any Doctors, then."

"There is no absence of Doctors here," she assures him with an angry snort. "And I suppose you are busy hiding somewhere." Because how else is it possible for him to be in the city without her noticing? Her senses can't be that impaired, they just can't, even with all the grating interference and distractions of this universe. She cocks her head disdainfully to mask just how disturbed she is. "The mundanities of living in this city can be difficult to get used to, I'm sure, but you do already have practice living an ordinary life, after all."

Now that does come as a surprise, and he fails to hide it. He had no reason to assume there were no Doctors about, besides past misadventures, but it had seemed such a reasonable expectation he hadn't questioned it. Definitely something to look into later--stranded, potentially vulnerable Doctors.

Her assessment is a little too accurate for his liking, and he bristles. Literally, for once. "What, are you empathising? How disgusting. If there are Doctors about, why are you still here? You'd never manage on your own, but I'd hardly expect the Doctor to stay put for long."
