It's Saturday night and you're hallucinating in your sleep!

It's that time again! The rift has caught the good little dreamers of New York (and beyond) in its currents and washed them ashore on a desert island in a dream wonderland. This time, however, quite a noticeable change has come over each of the attendees of this nocturnal party.

All the people who arrive in this shared mindspace will find that they have been transformed into some sort of animal they find familiar or that resembles them. They will find that they can still communicate with one another and that they still have all their mental faculties, but might be a little…well…influenced by the forms they have taken on.

They will also find that they have been deposited in the middle of the largest, most elaborate playground they have ever seen. Climbing equipment and slides of the sort meant for human children are in evidence, but so are cat trees, meadows, tunnels, pools and ponds, aerial obstacle courses, and anything else the mind can imagine, for as far as the eye can see.



[OOC: The usual dream party rules apply: players apply the party's theme (in this case, transformation) to their characters according to their own discretion, and both members and non-members are more than welcome to use this post to try out characters not yet in the game. Usual dreaming rules also apply, in that players can choose whether or not their characters will remember this in the morning. Have at!]

Peter gives himself a little shake. "I wasn't going to," he protests. He hadn't thought to keep it especially secret (and now he's trying to remember if he did already tell the Doctor), but it's not like he's going to go out of his way to let them know.

Lucy gives a little nod. "Good." She just needed to make that clear. Then again, if they know Gabriel, it's possible they already know anyway. But she's not planning on calling them up and asking.

"I'm not going to talk to her again anyway," says Peter consolingly. "I even got a promise that she'll do the same, lucky me."

"Am I to assume she didn't like you?" she asks curiously. Peter doesn't exactly struggle to ingratiate himself with anyone (unless he's trying to sleep with them, and even then he's doingit badly), and she doubts the TARDIS would like someone so different wearing the Doctor's face.

"Hated me," he agrees. He'd tried to ingratiate himself with the TARDIS, either to try to sleep with her or to just prove to himself that he could, but she'd had none of it.

"If it helps, I doubt she'd have slept with you even if she did like you," she comments with amusement. Or she'd certainly be surprised if she did.

"Another point in your favor," he acknowledges. He falls silent for a moment or two, though, too stuck on something the TARDIS said to be able to dismiss it just by making fun of her behind her back.

"I don't sulk," he says suddenly. "Not all the time."

Lucy blinks at him. At least that's something a snake can do easily.

"Only occasionally," she answers honestly. She probably sees Peter in a good mood more often than other people do. And when he's in a bad mood, she often joins in with the complaining. So there's really only when she can't be bothered to listen to him whine that she tells him to suck it up and stop sulking. "Did the TARDIS say you do, or..?"

"She said some crap about me not being capable of enjoying anything," he shares. It's the sort of thing he sort of shrugs off, though no one ever had the balls to say it right to his face back when he was a minor celebrity. Then again, Gabriel said something pretty similar recently.

"Well, that's patently untrue," she answers immediately and honestly. "You could perhaps be.. less defensive and more open about your enjoyment. You don't have to be all Master of Darkness all the time," she adds with a smile in her voice. "But I'd say we've had some fun." She's as usual trying to be honestly critical and supportive at the same time.

He appreciates the supportive part, but he's not so sure about the critical bit. "I'm not defensive," he tells her defensively. "I'm just tired of those two jerking me around and then acting like I've ruined their day when I don't bloody thank them for it. Did I tell you Gabriel threatened to put me in a box?"

Lucy barely contains the comment that it would be pretty easy to do such a thing in Peter's current state. Except for the fact that if Gabriel's here, he's probably an animal as well.

"I doubt he was making a legitimate threat," she answers comfortingly. "Have they been doing that a lot?"

"Gabriel introduced me to her about a week ago," he replies, though he knows it's admitting he's known the TARDIS was here and not told Lucy. "They sure as hell did it then, and then Gabriel came by and threatened me a few days afterward, and today she acted like someone shat in her cornflakes the instant she saw me."

To be fair, Lucy hasn't mentioned the Doctor or the TARDIS to Peter, at least not by name. It's been far longer since the Doctor met Peter - unbeknownst to Lucy.

"Maybe you got mixed up in something without knowing," she suggests. She knows Peter can be a bit... acrimonious, but it seems a bit of an extreme reaction perhaps.

He shrugs, or tries to. He doesn't know the fallout that followed his departure from the last dream, and it doesn't occur to him to wonder what effect he's had on their relationship beyond a general notion that Gabriel is upset at him for not bowing down to the TARDIS's need to cover everyone in butterflies.

"If they'd just fucking leave me alone, it wouldn't be a problem," he grumbles.

"Now you're sulking," she points out with amusement. "You could always just teleport away," she suggests not particularly seriously. She wouldn't like to be stalked by Gabriel and the TARDIS either. Though she doubts they'd really bother.

Considering the TARDIS doesn't want to have anything to do with him and Peter actually chased down Gabriel the last time they met, 'stalking' would be a pretty strong term for how the two of them are treating him. It's how it feels to him right now, though, given how often he seems to run into the pair and how long it always takes to extricate himself.

"I did, actually," he says, sounding a little surprised even to recall it. "The first time I met her, in a dream." Because the idea of teleporting in dreams felt fairly safe, right up until he appeared in Lucy's bed.

"Dream teleportation probably has less chance of serious consequences," she answers with a nod. "No idea if mine works in dreams." She hasn't really had cause to try. Or if she has, she doesn't remember it.

"Unless I teleport myself out of bed," Peter points out, surprised she didn't say it first.

"...Well, there is that," Lucy answers. "Perhaps trying to do it while awake is best after all. At least then you have some idea of where you are and where you're going that actually corresponds to reality."

"Maybe."

It's the closest Peter's come to agreeing with any of the people who have been telling him to learn how to control his power. He falls silent, mulling it over. He remembers their previous conversation about it, and it's becoming clearer and clearer that knowing how to use it would both stop him from killing himself with it and allow him to use it for getaways. That doesn't mean he likes the idea of deliberately teleporting, though.

Lucy waits, but Peter doesn't seem to have more to say. It's a step forward, though, 'maybe' instead of 'definitely not'. Lucy has gotten quite a bit of perks from controlling her power, despite being rather iffy about it at first. When he remains quiet, she nudges him a bit with her nose again. "Come on, hop on. Let's go explore."

"I've been exploring," he complains, but he does as he's told, clambering up over her nose and between her eyes. Anyone watching and unaware of their true nature would think she must be the most incompetent snake in the world to let such a perfectly bite-sized animal crawl about on her head.

"Well, I haven't," she answers, waiting while Peter climbs on and gets himself situated. Then she slowly starts sliding down from net, taking care every time she passes under something to have proper clearing so she doesn't just knock Peter off. "My eyesight is a bit terrible, by the way, but I doubt bats have much better. And unfortunately I don't know what unicorns smell like." Great big horse should be fairly noticable, though.

"Like horse shit," supplies Peter, though it's really not true. Generally horsey would be more accurate, though it was (irritatingly enough) more pleasant than the smell of a real horse. He clings to Lucy's head, careful to keep his claws away from her eyes, and lets out a squeak as he remembers. "I can do that thing," he says, sounding pleased with himself. "That thing bats do, seeing with their ears or whatever."
