It's Saturday night and you're hallucinating in your sleep!

It's that time again! The rift has caught the good little dreamers of New York (and beyond) in its currents and washed them ashore on a desert island in a dream wonderland. This time, however, quite a noticeable change has come over each of the attendees of this nocturnal party.

All the people who arrive in this shared mindspace will find that they have been transformed into some sort of animal they find familiar or that resembles them. They will find that they can still communicate with one another and that they still have all their mental faculties, but might be a little…well…influenced by the forms they have taken on.

They will also find that they have been deposited in the middle of the largest, most elaborate playground they have ever seen. Climbing equipment and slides of the sort meant for human children are in evidence, but so are cat trees, meadows, tunnels, pools and ponds, aerial obstacle courses, and anything else the mind can imagine, for as far as the eye can see.

[OOC: The usual dream party rules apply: players apply the party's theme (in this case, transformation) to their characters according to their own discretion, and both members and non-members are more than welcome to use this post to try out characters not yet in the game. Usual dreaming rules also apply, in that players can choose whether or not their characters will remember this in the morning. Have at!]

"It is fair wondrous," she agrees with a wistful smile. "And you couldn't be in a better shape for it." When she wakes up in the morning, she's definitely taking bird shape. Stuff the rift.

It's probably just as well she's unaware of their collective spat. Granted, her interaction with Peter the bat was pleasant enough that she'd be more inclined than some others might be to acknowledge that he even could be good company, but her expectations still aren't that high. She'd have a harder time understanding how two nigh-godlike beings could allow something as unsurprising as Peter's ill humor to spoil their fun.

Well, he can think of a better shape that happens to have wings, but it's not one that he'd feel comfortable sharing with her again. "Can't imagine you shifting into an albatross for a tour around Manhattan. It's a bit cumbersome, but it does the job. "

"Maybe not for Manhattan," she allows. It'd be far too conspicuous, unlike crow or falcon shape. "But if you headed out to sea a little ways, it'd be perfect." And now she wants to try that, though she's not sure she has the nerve. She's not sure if the rift is really in earnest about keeping people on the island, but she doesn't want to find out the hard way by having it wallop her into unconsciousness while she's a hundred feet above the ocean.

"Do you think you could do that? Fly out to sea?" His thoughts are much the same. He's been feeling like his wings have been clipped ever since he arrived through the rift.

"I could try," she says with a dubious frown. "But considering what happened last time I accidentally poked the rift, I'd as soon not risk doing it again - especially in midair, above the ocean." It might be doable in the summer, if she stayed low to the water and talked some dolphins into staying nearby just in case she needed help. But even the nicest weather and plenty of cetacean back-up wouldn't make the thought of ending up naked and unconscious in the water all that enticing.
