And the Boats Drift On [Open to All]

 photo tumblr_mk4dl8Cqzk1qitc0qo1_500_zps9a9cfe5e.jpg

The water is calm, and the night sky is filled with stars. The only light is natural: a patchy, bioluminescent glow coming from the water below, and the bright swath of the Milky Way above. It's not much, but it's more than enough to see by.

The dreamers will find themselves sitting in their own little rowboats, each stocked with two oars, a length of rope, some cushions, and a little picnic basket full of snacks. There is no visible shoreline, but it won't take the dreamers long to realize theirs are not the only boats in this shallow sea. Anything stirring in the water, be it fish or paddle, causes phosphorescent plankton to glow a bright blue, so there isn't really anywhere to hide.

Feel free to paddle around and visit the other dreamers, perhaps tying your boats together and sharing your snacks in an impromptu picnic. Or you could go for a swim - the bioluminescence makes it difficult to see the bottom, but it's not too terribly deep, so the risk of drowning is all but nonexistent. This setting, unlike the last one, isn't actively out to kill you. Or you could simply lie back and look at the stars.

[ooc: Same drill as always, folks. All are welcome, regardless of whether or not your character is in the game. Characters may remember or forget dream shenanigans at the player's discretion.]

Aglet would rather not hold on, but he doesn't have terribly much choice. He startles, feeling suddenly like he must have accidentally touched Topher and now they're swapping sizes, but of course he didn't and what's more he realizes after a moment that Topher is getting smaller without Aglet getting bigger. "Oh!" he says, watching in fascination. Something seems familiar about this bean, but he can't place the face. "You have a power!"

"Only in here," he answers, but smiling proudly nonetheless. It's a lot easier to talk to Aglet this way. He probably could've made Aglet bigger instead, so they'd match everyone else, but that would probably have scared him even more if he did without warning.

The Lapras bends it neck down and boops Aglet on the head with its nose, then splashes its fins gently in the water. It seems a lot more friendly when it's slightly more reasonable sized.

At least Aglet didn't panic and switch their sizes this time -- though he hadn't had a chance anyhow. He's still a bit nervous about the...animal...but knowing it's a dream helps him resist the urge to scramble backwards out of his boat when it brings its face down near him. He still cringes like he's expecting a bite, but nothing bad happens and he opens his eyes to see it just splashing and looking at him.

"What is that?" he asks Topher, tearing his eyes away from the...turtle...thing.

"It's a Lapras," he answers blithely, leaning over to give its neck a pat. "It's from Pokémon," he adds, smiling down at Aglet. And then...

"Hey... You're Aglet, aren't you?" he asks. They haven't actually met properly, but he recognises him from the papers Jennifer brought. There aren't exactly that many of his size around, so.

"Aglet Bottlerack," confirms Aglet, back to staring at the creature. He has no idea what Pokémon is, which means it's probably some big place named by beans that he's never been to, like Brooklyn or Timbuktu. "How did you know?" he asks, belatedly realizing that it's kind of weird.
