Sweeter than the First Time [Open to All]

Hello, dreamers of Manhattan. The Rift knows that things have been kind of rough, lately. The last dream didn't go as well as it had hoped. Consider this an apology of sorts, and a hearkening back to the good times you've shared.

It's a grand old (and potentially familiar) cabin house that the dreamers will find themselves wandering. The furniture is plentiful and comfortable, the floors are strewn with cushions and blankets, and there are cheerful fires burning in the grates. It seems a little odd that the house still manages to be on the chilly side despite looking so warm, yet it is.

Oh, well. You'll just have to find another dreamer or two and spoon up and fall asleep like little baby cats get cozy. It shouldn't be difficult; most of the dreamers (excepting those with strong telepathic defenses or deeply ingrained cuddle-averse personalities) will find themselves feeling friendlier than usual, along with an almost overwhelming desire to snuggle up to someone. How convenient that the house seems designed for that very purpose!

And if some of the cushions are Hello Kitty themed, well, that's just coincidence.

Dana doesn't particularly like how chilly this cabin is, it reminds her too much of being stuck out in the dog park at night. Still, it seems like a nice dream, and soon enough she finds a quiet nook by a fireplace and bundles herself up in a large armchair. She's seen a few other people in the dream, and it would be nice to not be alone, but she's far too shy to just go up to a random stranger and ask to share a blanket.

She sighs, and tries to warm her hands from the fire.

There's someone familiar! They hardly had a chance to get to know each other before, but Bee couldn't forget her, so sweet and helpful. Bee grins broadly to see her, all cute and bundled in her little nook, and all but hops over.

"Dana!" she says, and bends down to give her a little kiss on the cheek. "It's been so long since I saw you! Can I sit down with you?" She's not trying to shiver visibly but she might be. She is massively underdressed.

"Oh!" Dana startles at first, but smiles when she sees who it is. Bee! She's so friendly, it's impossible for Dana to feel any hint of melancholy now.

The kiss is certainly a surprise, though, and Dana freezes for a moment, blinking. But maybe that's normal for Bee, who seems so much more outgoing, even with people she doesn't know all that well. Maybe Dana is overthinking this, and turning a friendly greeting into an awkward silence.

She quickly scoots over, recovering herself. "Bee, it's so good to see you! It's been too long, we really should get together more." She pulls an afghan from the back of the chair to drape over them; Bee looks like she needs all the extra warmth she can get.

"We should!" agrees Bee, climbing into the space Dana's made for her and huddling gratefully under the blankets. Dana is nice and warm compared to her, and she isn't shy at all about snuggling up close. "I'm sorry, I've been terrible about getting in touch with people. And it gets harder the longer you avoid it, you know. How have you been doing?"

Dana sighs; she's certainly not the best at being social, and it's a relief to hear Bee echo what she's been thinking herself. She relaxes, sinking down and getting comfortable.

"I've been getting out of the office more, I actually started a new job part-time," says Dana, smiling as she leans into Bee to help warm her up faster. "It's at a florist, it's so much nicer than Romac." She pauses a moment, with a little frown. "Of course I don't want to sound ungrateful, they've given me a place to live and work to do and I've learned how to get along in the city but...but it's not something I want to do forever, you know? Or, at least however long I'll be here for."

Dana smiles, and gives Bee a little hug. "Which is why I want to spend more time with people while I can!"

"That's so great!" says Bee excitedly. "Where's your shop? I'll have to visit you. You know I keep bees, right? I'm starting a flower garden on the roof at the Rebel apartments, I can always use more flowers."

She curls up into the hug and rests her head on Dana's shoulder. "You should come and see it," she says. "I'm sure no one will care if you come for a visit. I've been to the ROMAC apartments once and it's not like they check you."
