Halfway

Tonight each dreamer of Manhattan will find out they're half the person they used to be.

No, really. Or at least, they're half the human[oid] they used to be. One way or another, each dreamer has been transformed into a hybrid creature from mythology. Fortunately, they find themselves at stunning fjord where those of the more aquatic persuasion can relax in the calm waters (unless, of course, the rift decides to beach them for fun) while others remain on dry ground (then again, who says a centaur can't swim?). There are trees in which bird-people can roost and warm rocks on which the cold-blooded can sun themselves, and the water of the fjord is cool, clear, and inviting. There's nothing man-made to be seen, no hint of civilization other than the dreamers themselves…and in this state, are they really so civilized?

[OOC: The usual dream party rules apply: all players and characters welcome, regardless of whether or not the character (or any character of yours) is in the game. Despite the wording, characters who did not start out looking human are welcome. Characters may remember or forget everything that happens in the Dreaming at players' discretion.]

Charley blinks when she hears her name, twisting around to try and find the source. There's a great disturbance of bubbles and spume some way out into the fjord, and a moment later, a head emerges, all its usually exuberant hair plastered down over a grinning face. Charley grins back, and launches herself off her perch, swooping around in a tight circle before coming to land on the shore.

'You're a hippocampus!' She says by way of greeting. Now that the water's calmed somewhat from his previous wild splashing, she can just see the front two horse-legs and the steadily beating tail behind them.

"I prefer man-horse-fish," says Andrew, who has given this some thought. He paddles closer; swimming is easy but keeping his head above the water and staying more or less still is less so. He's hoping for shallows where he can stand on his...front feet? He doesn't exactly have any back ones. The shore drops off into the deeps pretty quickly, though, so he has to get quite close to the edge and then it's hard to find a foothold.

"I haven't seen you lately," he says, just a hint of reproach in his voice. "And you're -- well, you're a bird, aren't you. It suits you."

He's not going to say harpy. Nope. Not going to say it.
